About
Our Story

Through personalised care, fierce advocacy, and unwavering support, we empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live fully—with dignity, joy, and the freedom to be themselves.
Founded in 1981 as a small house in Salisbury North, offering respite for just five children, EllieB’s has since grown into a trusted not-for-profit and NDIS lifeline for thousands across multiple South Australian locations.
Today, we provide a wide range of specialist disability support services—including:
- Respite & short stays
- Accommodation
- Emergency accommodation
- Recreation & community participation
Our mission is simple: create spaces where individuals with developmental disabilities feel safe, understood, and supported.
We honour the dignity of risk, empowering those we serve to explore, take meaningful chances, and live life on their own terms—all while knowing they have a safe, welcoming place to return to.
We understand that no two people are the same, so our care is personalised and designed to meet the unique needs of each individual.
For families, we offer the peace of mind that comes with knowing their loved one is encouraged to live fully, with the perfect balance of independence and support.
At EllieB’s, we don’t just care for potential—we champion it. Because every extraordinary person deserves the opportunity to live a beautifully ordinary life.
And when love, support, and belonging come first, all that’s left to do is smile.
