Don Kearvell

Board Member

My first contact with EllieB’s was some years ago when they first commenced supplying services to my daughter’s accommodation facility.

Since that time, my respect for the organisation and it’s CEO through difficult times, has grown immeasurably.

I have always been committed to the future, wellbeing and security of my daughter and her peers, and I have strongly and successfully advocated and litigated to protect the interests of the vulnerable and establish rights and protections that were denied them.

I consider that a Board role with a respected organisation such as EllieB’s will enable me to contribute to their good work, and therefore to people who live with a disability in a much broader way.

I was state manager for a national/international company for about twenty years or so until my daughter was born and became the centre of our world.

Shortly after that, I started and developed my own business in 1987 to enable flexibility to care for her needs and development. I sold that company in 2006 but continued to consult to SMEs due to my extensive industry experience until the end of 2023.

As a consequence of my 50 years or so of business management, ownership and consulting experience, I have a lived understanding and knowledge of management, accounting, employment and all basic aspects of private enterprise.
